Meta Tags
Meta tags are basically pieces of information that provide data about a web page or web site. They are found at the top of a web page in the HEAD section.Below are some meta tags that can be used:
Meta Description: This tag is used to describe the content of a webpage. Usually 2-3 sentences in length (200-250 characters). When possible, include a couple of your targeted keywords, preferably at the beginning of the description. In some cases, the meta description may appear in the search engine results so make it short, relevant and use it to entice readers to visit your site.
Usage:

Meta Keywords: This tag is used to list all of your keywords for a specific web page. In the SEO world, the general consensus is that the meta keywords tag has little to no relevance with the major search engines. With that said, it’s still a good idea to use. It can’t hurt as long as it’s not abused by keyword stuffing. Try to keep your keywords to 10 or less and do not repeat the same keyword more than 2 or 3 times.
Usage:

Title: The Title is one of the most important aspects of a webpage to consider. Titles should be short, descriptive, relevant and page-specific. Try to keep the title to 10-12 words in length while describing the key aspects of the web page. Each page of a web site should have a different title tag. When possible, use your important keywords near the beginning of the title.

Meta Robots: This tag tells the search engine spiders whether or not to crawl your web page.

Meta Author: This tag contains the name of your company. Not required, but may help with company name recognition.
